
Stamping Out Stigma The Online version of the DMDA Toledo Newsletter Edition 1 November 2001 DMDA Toledo and DMDA Ohio held their Annual Dinner October 16th at the Clarion Wesgate. National DMDA Exeuctive Director Lydia Lewis was the keynote speaker. DMDA Toledo presented their yearly awards. Theis year's awards went to: Lydia Lewis, NDMDA: Consumer Advocate of the Year Doug DeVoe, OAMH; Consumer Advocate of the Year Fr. Kenneth Morman; Humanitarian of the Year Arunkumar Patel M.D.; Lifetime Acievement Award State Rep. Organization News DMDA Toledo is proud to have been a part of the Mental Health Voter Empowerment Coalition this year. The coalition hosted candidates forums for the local elections. Turn out and media coverage was GREAT! Other participating organizations were: The Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Greater Toledo, The Consumers Union of Lucas County, and the Mental Health Association of Lucas County.
