Depressive and Manic Depressive Association of Toledo

Welcome to DMDA of Toledo!

DMDA of Toledo was organized May 14, 1999 with the vision of building a support organization in the Toledo area for persons with depressive disorders and their families.

DMDA of Toledo now holds regular support group meetings, hosts educational forums and runs Generation Y Youth Depression and Suicide Prevention Program.

The Depressive and Manic Depressive Association of Toledo is one of 400 local chapters of the National Depressive and Manic Depressive Association. NDMDA is the nation's largest patient-run, illness specific organization.

DMDA of Toledo's mission is to educate patients/consumers, families, professionals, and the public concerning the nature of depressive and manic depressive illnesses as treatable medical diseases;to foster self-help for patients and families; to eliminate discrimination and stigma; to improve access to care; and to advocate for research toward the elimination of these illneeses.
